The Shoot

The day will begin at 9:00 with breakfast and coffee followed by the safety talk and peg assignment at 9 :30 am.

Pheasants will be released from a raised platform in the center of the course, with 15 shooting stations or pegs placed around the field. A round of birds will be released, equal to the number of shooters. After each round we will retrieve the downed birds before moving to another shooting station for the next round. This will continue for 16 rounds (on a full shoot with a sit out round) and all shooters have had an opportunity at each station. We will have retrieving dogs covering each station.

There will be 15 game birds released for each shooter and the hunt will be limited to 32 shooters.

After the hunt around 12:30 all the birds will be cleaned and divided equally among the shooters. A King's feast will be served in the clubhouse. If you choose not to partake in any adult beverages during lunch you can go on a walk up hunt in the afternoon.

The afternoon bag limit will be ~ 7 birds per shooter unless stated otherwise the day of the event. If you find dead birds or cripples not recovered from the morning shoot they can count towards your 7 birds or be turned into Adam for processing.

Limit of 4 hunters to a group. All afternoon hunts must conclude by 4 p.m.
